🇳🇱 By 4AllFootball ·

On Friday, 34‑year‑old German international Marc ter Stegen left the FC Barcelona training camp and flew to Amsterdam, where he will be unveiled on Tuesday as Ajax’s new goalkeeper, completing a season‑long loan agreed between the Dutch club and Barça.

The official presentation is set for Tuesday at Ajax’s stadium. The German international will therefore begin his Eredivisie adventure under the Dutch spotlight.

Since his arrival on Friday night, administrative formalities have been completed. The loan enables Ajax to add a goalkeeper with extensive international experience. It also allows Barcelona to continue reshaping its squad and managing its wage bill.

The transfer satisfies a wish expressed by coach Míchel, who had previously sought the keeper for Girona last season, 4 June. It therefore represents a long‑awaited target for the Dutch side.

Ajax has spent weeks preparing for Ter Stegen’s integration, viewing him as the primary objective for the goalkeeper position. The club sees his arrival as a major reinforcement.

Míchel declared, “El Ajax será mejor,” confirming his confidence in the signing. The statement was made in the context of the upcoming season launch.

With paperwork settled, the German will join training immediately, aiming to be match‑ready for Ajax’s Conference League tie on Thursday. The Dutch league campaign begins on Sunday, marking the start of his competitive duties.
