West Ham chase Saudi loan to plug Championship attack

West Ham United are targeting a loan for 19‑year‑old striker George Ilenikhena to fill the attacking void created by their relegation to the Championship, with Saudi club Al‑Ittihad willing to negotiate a deal before the 1 September deadline. Al‑Ittihad have indicated openness to a loan arrangement that includes an option to purchase, and West Ham have formally enquired about his availability. German side Schalke and Italian club Genoa are also reported to be interested, adding competition to the negotiations.
