Titraoui returns as Lens host Lyon, Boudache makes debut

Ligue 1 resumed on Friday after the international break with a clash between RC Lens and Olympique Lyonnais, a fixture that drew Algerian supporters as Yacine Titraoui returned after a 34‑day hamstring lay‑off. The midfielder, sidelined since 5 September, finally stepped onto the pitch for Lens.

Titraoui's return to action

Titraoui was named in the starting line‑up and lasted 53 minutes before making way for Amadou Haidara. Though still physically short, the Algerian international displayed several passages that hinted at his potential contribution in the midfield.

The hamstring problem had kept him out of the latest training camp with the Verts, a setback after he had started the first three league fixtures for Lens. His early‑season involvement had been promising before the injury halted his progress.

Opposite the Lens midfield, Olympique Lyonnais also fielded an Algerian, the young winger Kaïl Boudache. Boudache began the match on the bench, awaiting his opportunity.

Boudache's impact and the final score

Boudache entered the fray in the 71st minute, bringing his customary wing‑side drive to the game. While his energy was evident, he did not produce a decisive moment.

During the international break he linked up with the U23 side of former Algerian striker Rafik Saïfi, featuring for roughly fifteen minutes in a friendly against South Africa. A virus forced him to miss the subsequent fixture.

Lens secured a 2‑1 victory, with Florian Sotoca and Matthieu Udol finding the net. Khalis Merah reduced the deficit for Lyon, but could not force a draw.

The loss marked Olympique Lyonnais’ first Ligue 1 defeat of the campaign, ending a run of five matchdays without a loss.
