OGC Nice's Gym eyes second win as RCSA travel to Allianz Riviera

OGC Nice host RC Strasbourg at the Allianz Riviera on Sunday at 15:00 for the sixth round of Ligue 1. The Gym sit in 14th place after a 2‑1 victory over LOSC before the international break, while RCSA occupy eighth after a 2‑1 defeat to Paris FC.

Nice look to cement revival at home

Nice secured their first league win on the fifth matchday, beating LOSC 2‑1 just before the pause, which lifted them out of the relegation zone to 14th. At home they remain unbeaten, recording draws with Lorient (0‑0) and Le Mans (1‑1) before the win over Lille (2‑1). The side hope to be more threatening in the final thirty metres to build on the momentum.

The probable starting eleven features Diouf in goal, a back line of Abdelmonem, Ndayishimiye and Mandza, midfielders Clauss, Coulibaly, Witsel and Nkounkou, and an attacking trio of Hein, Wahi and Diop. Coach Luc Feng hopes the selection will preserve the defensive solidity shown at the Riviera while adding creativity up front. The home crowd could prove decisive if Nice manage to dominate possession.

Strasbourg aim to rebound from Paris defeat

RCSA sit eighth after five fixtures, a position that keeps them within reach of European qualification. Their recent form dipped with a 2‑1 loss to Paris FC, but earlier they displayed firepower by thrashing Troyes 6‑2. The Alsatians will look to restore confidence and close the three‑point gap to Nice.

Strasbourg possess several attacking options capable of testing Nice’s defence, which has struggled for consistency since the season began. Discipline during periods of low intensity will be crucial, as lapses have previously cost points. A disciplined performance could see the RCSA climb further up the table.

The clash offers the Gym a chance to confirm their revival on home soil, while Strasbourg seek to prove they can challenge higher‑placed opponents. Both teams have much at stake as the Ligue 1 campaign heads into its second half.
