Spurs eye double‑strike boost with Gakpo and Savinho

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo and Brazilian winger Savinho, with reports suggesting fees of up to £70 million for Gakpo and more than £60 million for Savinho as part of a potential £120‑130 million attacking investment this summer for the club.

Tottenham have already set a club‑record spend of more than £235 million this summer, signing Sanro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke. With the defence and midfield reinforced, manager Roberto De Zerbi is now turning to the attack, stating that a new winger who can also play centrally is a priority.

Reuters reporter Paul O'Keefe wrote on X that “Cody Gakpo now a leading contender as Tottenham look to add to their attacking options.” He later clarified that the interest in Gakpo comes “in addition to Savinho.”

Jurgen Klopp previously noted that Gakpo “doesn’t want to jump on a running train, he wants to push the train,” a trait De Zerbi admires. Former Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman called the Dutch winger “maybe the most important player for us until now.” Gakpo has recorded 32 goals and 18 assists in 127 Premier League games.

Spurs could offset the £120‑130 million outlay with incoming £46 million from Luka Vuskovic and the likely departures of Cristian Romero, Guglielmo Vicario and Licas Bergvall, which together may generate north of £175 million. This would keep the club’s net spend roughly balanced despite the ambitious double signing.

Securing both Gakpo and Savinho would push Tottenham’s total summer investment beyond £350 million, signalling a major statement of intent while also relying on the expected player exits to fund the purchases.
