Romano Schmid opens the scoring in Bergamo, Atalanta turns the game

In the dusty stadium of Bergamo, Romano Schmid faced the front twice on October 25, 2026, when he sent Frosinone against Atalanta into a turbulent 4‑4 duel. The ÖFB team player opened the scoring in the first minute and immediately set the match soaring.

Schmid provides early lead

Schmid put his team ahead 1‑0 in the first minute after a defensive lapse and extended it to 2‑1 in the 17th minute. They were his first two goals since moving from Werder Bremen to Italy. So far he has already prepared three assists for Frosinone.

Atalanta fought back and even led twice in the wild back‑and‑forth, but former Salzburg player Aleksa Terzic saved a point for Frosinone when he secured the result in the 82nd minute. Florian Grillitsch was missing injured, which made the situation harder for the team.

With the draw, Frosinone remains in sixth place, eight points behind league leaders Inter Milan. The result highlights the tight position in the middle of the Italian championship.

Inter stays unbeaten thanks to two goals in stoppage time. The side thereby consolidates its lead in Serie A.

In the home match against Fiorentina, Inter fell behind after a goal by Alex Jimenez in the 65th minute. Marcus Thuram equalised in the 91st minute, and Piotr Zielinski secured the 2‑1 victory with a penalty in the 97th minute.

With the win, Inter continues to lead ahead of level‑point Lazio Rome, while AS Roma sits four points behind the league leaders.
