Allegri vs Roma: the FIGC Prosecutor is considering a sanction

Massimiliano Allegri, the Napoli coach, raised his voice against Roma in the dressing room at the end of the Napoli‑Roma match, attracting the interest of the federal prosecutor's office, which has launched a disciplinary assessment. The outburst, which occurred while he was in a small room adjacent to the press office, has been reported as potentially subject to sanction.
Allegri's words
Allegri is said to have shouted “Last year they slipped the Champions into their pocket. Always them…”, referring to Roma, a phrase heard before his arrival for the interview. In the second version of the story he added “I paid them with Milan”, linking the comment to the previous year’s European title. The coach, however, denied having uttered those words.
The role of the FIGC Prosecutor
The federal prosecutor will send a report to the sports judge tomorrow, who will have to decide whether to suspend the coach who was sent off by referee Colombo after Roma’s decisive equaliser, reported by the fourth official Sacchi. It is not yet clear which remark triggered the procedure, but the matter has been brought to the prosecutor’s attention.
Prosecutor Chinè may wait for the judge’s decision before considering opening a file, should Allegri not address the issue directly. In the absence of a sports judge’s intervention, Chinè could initiate a disciplinary proceeding against the Napoli coach for his outburst against Roma.

Reactions from Roma and the press
The yellow‑red club, particularly coach Gasperini, described Allegri’s statements as “unacceptable and serious” and is awaiting a possible clarification in the coming hours. Corriere dello Sport reported that prosecutor Chinè was present last night, assessing the opening of a proceeding, but will probably wait for the sports judge’s decision on the suspension and the fine.
The sports judge’s jurisdiction is limited to the pitch and does not examine events in the tunnels or dressing rooms, thereby separating the two disciplinary lines.
Allegri, after being sent off, removed his jacket, left the field angry and said “I’m not clear enough to comment”. He also pointed out that striker Malen has already scored nine goals, but deemed the team’s performance insufficient. His outburst was summed up with the phrase “It’s always them, I paid them last year with Milan”, again referring to the Champions.
The contrast between Allegri’s verbal explosion and the disciplinary process launched by the prosecutor highlights the separation between on‑field sanctions and off‑field assessments. The final decision will depend on both the sports judge and prosecutor Chinè.
