PSG's €45m chase for Ajax prodigy Godts tests transfer budget

Paris Saint‑Germain are negotiating the signing of 21‑year‑old Belgian forward Mika Godts from Ajax for a fee reported at around €45 million – roughly R$260 million – as part of Luis Enrique’s drive to reinforce the attack. The club has made clear it wants Godts in Paris and the player has indicated a willingness to move.

Alongside Godts, PSG are also tracking Maghnes Akliouche from Monaco and Ferran Torres from Barcelona, both of whom have been linked to the Paris project. The club intends to use the cash from recent sales to fund these high‑profile acquisitions.

Ajax have the player under contract until 2029 and are demanding a transfer fee of about €60 million – roughly R$353 million – while PSG’s budget for the deal is said to be around €45 million. The gap between the two valuations is the main obstacle to completing the move.

Agent Niels De Jonck told De , “I am confident the clubs will reach an agreement on the transfer fee.” He added that, should an accord be reached, Godts would sign a contract running until mid‑2031.

Godts has become a decisive figure for Ajax, recording 25 goals and 27 assists in 113 appearances since joining the Dutch side in early 2024. His playing style is noted for one‑on‑one skill, agility and creative power.

The Dutch club has regarded him as a key technical reference for the season and acknowledges that ignoring interest from a European giant like PSG would be difficult. Ajax’s officials have signalled awareness of the ongoing talks.
