Milan speeds up to appoint Markus Krosche as new sporting director

Yesterday afternoon, Milan secured the victory against Atalanta at the San Siro Stadium, but the joy of the red-and-black fans was interrupted by news from Germany: the sporting director of Eintracht Frankfurt, Markus Krosche, has requested his departure from the club.
The divorce with Eintracht
According to the announcement, Krosche submitted a request to Eintracht's supervisory board, asking to be relieved immediately of his duties. The decision was taken after more than five years of commitment at a club he describes as “very positive but extremely demanding”.
In his statement, Krosche said: “In recent months I have devoted myself intensely to reflecting on my personal situation and my professional future.” He added that he felt the need for a change and that Eintracht could benefit from new stimuli.
The return to Milan
Already in the summer, the German executive had signed an agreement with Gerry Cardinale to become the new Head of Football of Milan. At the same time, the arrival at Casa Milan of Timmo Hardung was agreed, considered by Eintracht as Krosche’s natural successor.
Sources indicate that, despite the separation, contacts between Krosche and Milan have never been broken. Cardinale would have liked to complete the “sporting revolution” started last summer, by adding a field figure capable of representing the club in the transfer market.
Krosche’s name has been circulating strongly in the Milan sphere in recent weeks, fueling expectations of a “alignment” between the club’s needs and the executive’s expertise. If the negotiation concludes, Milan will finally have a high‑level figure dedicated to football, with the possibility to influence upcoming transfer operations.
In the meantime, Milan is preparing to consolidate its position in the league, while Eintracht Frankfurt will have to reorganise ahead of the future, as Krosche hoped in his closing statement.
