Lazio seize top spot after explosive attack by Taylor and Noslin

Lazio have regained the lead in Serie A after an overwhelming 2‑6 victory over Sassuolo, in which Kenneth Taylor and Tijjani Noslin combined for three goals, including Taylor’s early 0‑1 in the 2nd minute. The match, played at the Mapei Stadium, was characterised by a chaotic first half with multiple penalties and a red card. Taylor had also opened the scoring 0‑1 against Parma in the previous match.
Taylor opened the match in the 2nd minute with a rebound that sent the ball into the net, giving Lazio an early 0‑1 lead. Later he provided a cross that allowed Romano Floriani to score, after which the VAR carried out a brief check but confirmed the goal.
Sassuolo reacts and receives red card
Sassuolo responded quickly when Kristian Thorstvedt equalised, but a few minutes later he received a red card after a hard charge. Despite being reduced to ten men, the home side found the way to the score twice again through Gustav Isaksen and Romano Floriani.
Noslin provided the decisive double strike; his first shot found the top corner from the edge of the penalty area, and shortly afterwards he placed a second ball into the crossing for the final score of 2‑6.

Inter can equalise on points
After the break goalkeeper Stefano Turati saved two penalties, first from Mattia Zaccagni and then from Davide Frattesi, both of which missed from the spot. Turati had not needed to make any saves in the first half.
The crowd of a large number of Lazio supporters filled the Mapei Stadium, despite a long‑standing boycott against the club management. The supporters seized the opportunity to support their team in great numbers.
If Inter defeat Venezia on Wednesday, the club will be level on points with Lazio again.

Coach Gennaro Gattuso substituted Taylor at halftime, presumably after a yellow card for the midfielder. With the three points, Lazio maintain their lead over second place.
