Serie A sees Lazio's fan boycott meet 10,000 Sassuolo fans as Round 9 starts

Round 9 of Serie A kicks off today with table‑leaders Lazio travelling to Sassuolo and Como heading to Turin, while Roma host Cagliari. Over 10,000 Lazio supporters will fill the away end at the Mapei Stadium in Reggio Emilia despite a boycott of home matches.
Fan boycott and away support
Biancocelesti fans continue to boycott home fixtures in a campaign aimed at pressuring owner Claudio Lotito to sell the club. Despite the protest, the away end has sold out for every match, and more than 10,000 supporters will travel to the Mapei Stadium in Reggio Emilia for the Lazio‑Sassuolo clash. The match forms part of Round 9 of Serie A, which kicks off today.
Lazio’s ideal XI is expected to stay largely unchanged, with head coach Gennaro Gattuso overseeing the selection. Defender Josip Sutalo is likely to rest, while centre‑back Diogo Leite is set to start for the first time this season. The Biancocelesti will rely on their back line to maintain the league‑leading position.
