Bayern’s Max Eberl says talks with Harry Kane are progressing well

Director Max Eberl told Sky Germany that Bayern Munich are in "very, very good talks" with England striker Harry Kane as they aim to secure a fresh contract for the 33‑year‑old. The club have not signed anything yet, but Eberl said the negotiations are heading in a positive direction.

Why Bayern want to keep Kane

Kane has been a world‑class signing since arriving from Tottenham in the summer of 2023, netting 154 goals in 156 games across all competitions. His goal tally makes him one of the favourites for this year’s Ballon d’Or and a key figure in Bayern’s attacking plans.

Negotiations and public comments

Christian Falk, reporting for CF Bayern Insider, said Kane and his representatives have already reached an agreement with the club on a new deal, although Eberl confirmed no formal commitment has been signed. A few days earlier, sporting director Christoph Freund also described the talks as positive but warned there was no new development until a contract is signed.

Eberl acknowledged the constant media attention, noting, "We get asked about it every three days and we answer with what we can." He added that the club remain determined to extend Kane’s stay and that the striker feels comfortable at the Allianz Arena.

The update comes as fans grow impatient for confirmation, given Kane’s impact and his status as a potential record‑breaker in the Premier League. While the England international’s 213 Premier League goals place him 47 behind Alan Shearer, a move back to England now seems increasingly unlikely.

Should the talks conclude successfully, Bayern will retain a prolific scorer who has already delivered a goal per game ratio and remains central to their ambitions both domestically and in Europe.
