Bayern hold fresh talks on JJ Gabriel as United block his exit

German media have reported that Bayern Munich have entered fresh discussions with Manchester United teenager JJ Gabriel, after a German journalist disclosed the Red Devils' current stance on the 16‑year‑old attacker.
Negotiations and registration notice
Gabriel’s representatives informed Manchester United on 15 September that the forward wishes to leave, prompting the club to issue a formal notice to cancel his registration with immediate effect.
The notice means any Premier League side must now negotiate a fee directly with United, despite Gabriel holding an Irish passport and being free to seek a move.
Interest from Europe’s elite
Sources quoted by TEAMtalk’s transfer insider Graeme Bailey say Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Paris Saint‑Germain and Bayern are all keen to sign the Irish‑eligible forward.
reported that United have offered Gabriel an official scholarship contract, a move that would require a fee to be paid to the club.
According to the same reports, Real Madrid are favourites, needing only £350,000 in compensation to secure the youngster.
Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg posted on X at 7:34 am on 10 October that Bayern have held fresh talks with Gabriel’s camp but have not yet received a firm commitment.
Plettenberg added that Gabriel appears to be leaning towards a Spanish destination, with Real Madrid and Barcelona leading the race.
The journalist also noted that a move is being planned for January, contingent on Gabriel obtaining a European passport, while a Cypriot passport is also being pursued as a backup.
Despite the interest, Manchester United are refusing to let the 16‑year‑old leave, with the club’s co‑owners INEOS insisting they want to keep him.
