Deportivo La Coruña target Real Madrid midfielder with 2027 contract

🇪🇸

Deportivo La Coruña have opened talks with Real Madrid to secure 22‑year‑old midfielder Manuel Angel, whose contract runs until 2027, as the newly promoted side prepares for a return to La Liga this summer. The club view the academy graduate as a priority for the summer transfer window, hoping he can make an immediate impact in Spain’s top flight.

Deportivo La Coruña, freshly promoted to La Liga, have identified Manuel Angel as one of their key targets for the upcoming summer transfer window. The 22‑year‑old midfielder currently belongs to the Real Madrid academy.

Negotiations are described as being at an early stage, with both clubs acknowledging that a final agreement remains some distance away. The discussions have already been initiated by Deportivo.

Deportivo La Coruña have expressed a preference for securing Angel on a permanent transfer rather than arranging a temporary loan. This ambition adds complexity to the talks, given Real Madrid’s usual policies.

Real Madrid traditionally exercise caution when allowing academy products to depart permanently, preferring to retain long‑term control over their development. Consequently, any deal involving Los Blancos tends to be lengthy and detailed.

Real Madrid are expected to retain 50 % of Angel’s future rights, a common clause for La Fabrica graduates. Angel’s contract with Real Madrid runs until 2027, giving the Spanish giants a strong negotiating position.

Despite the measured pace, Deportivo La Coruña remain optimistic and continue to monitor the situation closely, hoping to keep the negotiations alive as they prepare for a demanding La Liga campaign.
