Tadic spotted at Goffert as NEC move nears completion

🇳🇱 By 4AllFootball Editorial ·

Vandaag, the 37‑year‑old Serbian Dusan Tadic was seen stepping onto the De Goffert pitch in Nijmegen, a vivid sign that his long‑awaited move to NEC is imminent. Reports from VoetbalPrimeur confirm the former Ajax captain is only days away from signing a free‑transfer contract, with the club expected to announce it shortly.

VoetbalPrimeur had already reported that Tadic is on the verge of becoming an NEC player, and his appearance at De Goffert has turned the speculation into a matter of time. The 37‑year‑old former Ajax captain, a seasoned Serviër, is now only waiting for the club’s official confirmation.

The official announcement is expected soon, after Tadic arrived at the stadium of the Nijmegenaren. Because he left Al Wahda as a free agent, NEC will not pay a transfer fee for the Serbian forward.

Tadic weighed several options in the Netherlands and abroad before choosing NEC, citing the club’s sporting project as decisive. Dick Schreuder, who championed the signing, expects the experienced left‑footed attacker to be eligible for the Champions League qualifying round. If all goes to plan, Tadic could be registered in time to face Olympiakos in the early stages.

NEC becomes the fourth Dutch side to sign a left‑footed forward of Tadic’s profile. He broke into the Eredivisie with FC Groningen before moving to FC Twente, then spent time in the Premier League. His spell at Ajax saw him reach the Champions League semi‑final and collect multiple trophies.

After a three‑year absence from Dutch football, Tadic is set to return to the Eredivisie with NEC. The veteran’s experience is expected to bolster NEC’s ambitions in both domestic and European competitions.
