Millwall land six-million-euro jackpot for Servais
Millwall have completed the signing of 21-year-old Belgian midfielder Mathis Servais for a reported fee of six million euros. The Championship club announced the deal on their official channels after the player passed his medical in London on Saturday.
The transfer had been expected for weeks and now sees Servais leave KV Mechelen after just one season. Millwall will pay approximately six million euros, a figure two million above his current Transfermarkt valuation of four million euros.
Servais has agreed a five-year contract with Millwall, linking up with Belgian teammate Casper De Norre. The move follows a strong campaign at KV Mechelen, where he made 34 appearances, scored two goals and provided four assists.
KV Mechelen confirmed the departure with a club statement reading: “Bedankt, Kakker. All the best.” Servais himself thanked supporters, staff and teammates via the club website, describing Malinwa as “a warm family club.”
The fee represents a significant return for KV Mechelen, who signed Servais from SK Beveren in September 2025 for about 1.2 million euros. His performances helped the club reach the Champions’ Play-offs for the first time in its history.
Servais, who plays as an attacking midfielder, progressed through the youth ranks of Charleroi and Club Brugge before making his senior debut with Club NXT. He has six caps for the Belgian U21 team.
Millwall’s recruitment adds a young Belgian with upside, while KV Mechelen secures a substantial financial boost after just one season with the player. The deal underscores the club’s ability to develop talent and monetise it effectively.
Transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri reported the move on X, noting that Servais was en route to London to complete his medical. The player’s arrival strengthens Millwall’s midfield options in the Championship.
