Chelsea eye Cesare Casadei return, loan to Ipswich on the table

🇬🇧

Chelsea are reportedly weighing a return for Italian midfielder Cesare Casadei, with a loan to Ipswich Town on the table. The Blues sold the 2025/26 Serie A regular, who logged 36 matches and seven goals for Torino, and still hold a 27.5 percent resale clause.

Chelsea completed the transfer of Cesare Casadei to Serie A side Torino in January 2025. The move marked the end of his initial stint at Stamford Bridge.

During the 2025/26 campaign Casadei featured in 36 Serie A games for Torino, finding the net seven times. His contributions made him a notable asset in Italian football.

Chelsea retained a 27.5 percent resale clause in the original deal, potentially lowering the cost of a future re‑signing. The clause gives the English club leverage should they decide to bring the midfielder back.

Tuttomercatoweb reported that Real Betis are among several clubs interested in acquiring the Italian midfielder. Casadei was described as a prized asset for Italian football not long ago.

Chelsea are exploring the option of loaning Casadei to Ipswich Town if he returns to Stamford Bridge this summer. A temporary spell in the English lower leagues could accelerate his development.

Kaustubh Pandey cautioned that a move to Chelsea could see Casadei lost in the shuffle again. He argues the player would benefit more from a permanent role where he is the leading figure.

If negotiations progress, the summer window could see Casadei either re‑joining the Blues or heading to Ipswich on loan, pending final agreements.
