Paris FC's €50m drive lands former Chelsea coach Liam Rosenior
Paris FC announced on Monday that former Chelsea assistant Liam Rosenior will take over as head coach, a move that aligns with the club’s hyper‑ambitious plan to spend a €50 million budget on four or five new signings ahead of the new season.
Foot Mercato reported the appointment on Monday, noting that Rosenior was dismissed by Chelsea in April after joining the club in January. He had been recruited following the unexpected departure of Enzo Maresca earlier that year.
During his brief tenure, Rosenior secured a few positive results early on, but a subsequent poor run of form prompted Chelsea to part ways with him in April.
Rosenior previously coached RC Strasbourg in Ligue 1, giving him experience in French top‑flight football. His stint at Strasbourg ended before his move to Chelsea.
Paris FC had initially aimed to extend its partnership with Antoine Arnault, yet stalled talks left the coaching vacancy open for Rosenior. The breakdown of talks with Arnault removed the last obstacle to securing Rosenior's services.
The club disclosed a €50 million transfer budget intended to attract four or five new players during the upcoming window. The financial commitment reflects Paris FC’s determination to compete more aggressively in the league.
Paris FC is finalising the contract with Rosenior so that preparations for the new season can commence, after a recent postponement of the preseason start.
