Bayern miss point Norwegian spectacle, Brugge surprise Inter hat‑trick

Bayern Munich had to settle for a draw on Tuesday evening after a spectacle against Viking FK, while Club Brugge surprisingly won away at Internazionale thanks to a hat‑trick from Nicolo Tresoldi.

Drama in Norway

The German side started the match with a 2-0 deficit. After the break Bayern turned the game around to a 2-3 lead, but a late equaliser from Viking resulted in a 3-3 draw.

Coach Vincent Kompany, who leads Bayern's team, saw his side fall behind first. In the first half Zlatko Tripic scored for Viking and Peter Christiansen added the second goal, leaving the halftime score at a 2-0 deficit for Bayern.

In the second half Harry Kane responded quickly for Bayern, first himself and then via Joshua Kimmich to bring the score to 2-2. Later Diaz, after a cross from Konrad Laimer, put Bayern up 2-3. A red card for Michael Olise left Bayern with ten men, but Herman Haugen’s late goal for Viking made the draw inevitable.

Brugge’s unexpected triumph

Club Brugge were level with Internazionale at halftime, after which Nicolo Tresoldi scored the opening goal for the Belgians. The break ended 1-1 thanks to a goal from Lautaro Martinez for Inter.

After the break Tresoldi continued his hat‑trick. After fifteen minutes he scored his second goal from a cross by Carlos Forbs, and in the 74th minute he completed the scoring series. Inter reduced the deficit with a second goal from Martinez, but Romeo Vermant put Brugge back in front in the 87th minute.

In injury time Ange‑Yoan Bonny provided the decisive difference, sending Brugge away with three points.

Conclusion and outlook

The record champions now have one point from the first round of the Champions League, while Brugge, with an important win, has strengthened its position in the group stage. Both teams now look ahead to their next group matches, where the results achieved could be decisive for their continuation in the tournament.
