The split with his lawyer shakes the Mbappé clan
Kylian Mbappé, captain of the French team, sees officially confirmed the end of his collaboration with his lawyer, Maître Delphine Verheyden, after ten years of partnership. The information was revealed on Wednesday by L’Équipe, which detailed the circumstances of this professional split.
A decade of legal support
Delphine Verheyden was present when the Bondy native left Monaco to join Paris Saint‑Germain in 2017. She then oversaw the review of the contract signed with Real Madrid in 2024, providing legal follow‑up for the striker during his spell in Spain.
The role of the holding and the decision to terminate
It was Ziad Hammoud, chief executive of Interconnected Ventures – the holding of Kylian Mbappé and of his mother Fayza Lamari – who informed Ms Verheyden this summer that the collaboration was over. According to L’Équipe, the decision stems from a clash of currents within the footballer’s entourage at Real Madrid.
The Paris Bar Council, approached by Delphine Verheyden, confirmed that their paths had taken different directions. “I have taken note of the desire of the chief executive of his group to terminate my agreement on 16 August 2026,” the lawyer said.

At the same time, Ms Verheyden emphasized that Kylian Mbappé was “an exceptional athlete and man,” recalling his status both on the pitch and off it.
L’Équipe also noted that Ziad Hammoud has never worked amicably with the lawyer, which could complicate the separation. Indeed, Delphine Verheyden is said to have approached the Paris Bar Council to obtain payment of fees, judging that the terms of her contract were not honoured.
This legal termination adds to the long list of topics that fuel the debate around Kylian Mbappé, an indispensable figure of world football and constantly in the spotlight.
