Police interview Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappé in corruption case
On September 30, Kylian Mbappé, the Real Madrid superstar, was questioned by police as part of corruption investigations in French football, reports the French sports newspaper. The questioning took place because the investigations are not directed at the star himself, but at one of his close companions.
Allegations against security chief Mohamed "Momo" Sanhadji
The focus of the investigations is Mohamed “Momo” Sanhadji, long-time security chief of the French national team. Sanhadji worked for the Equipe Tricolore from 2004 to 2026 and accompanied Mbappé on a private trip to Cameroon, although he was still employed in the civil service at that time.
According to the investigations, Mbappé is said to have paid Sanhadji more than €60,000 in 2023. In addition, Sanhadji is alleged to have borrowed money from numerous national players to finance the purchase of a house.
The newspaper also notes that former Bayern star Franck Ribery appears in the files because he treated Sanhadji to a vacation in Sicily. This highlights a network of money flows surrounding the Tricolore and the Real Madrid star.
