Kylian Mbappé ends 10-year collaboration with lawyer Delphine Verheyden

Kylian Mbappé officially terminated the contract of his long‑standing lawyer, Me Delphine Verheyden, last August, according to information confirmed by and. The decision was served by Ziad Hammoud, chief executive of Interconnected Ventures, as well as by the player's mother, Fayza Lamari.

A ten‑year collaboration

Me Verheyden had been defending the interests of the world champion for ten years, notably intervening in the dispute between Mbappé and Paris Saint‑Germain (PSG). She told: “I have taken great pleasure working these past ten years alongside Kylian Mbappé. He is an exceptional athlete and man.”

Reasons for the termination

In her statement, the lawyer said she had taken note of the chief executive's wish to end her agreement on 16 August 2026. She then approached the Paris Bar Council to obtain payment of fees, arguing that the contract terms had not been respected.

Context of the dispute with PSG

During those years, Me Verheyden was at the forefront of the litigation between Mbappé and PSG, a club the player left in 2024 for Real Madrid. The footballer claimed €55 million in unpaid bonuses and wages, and the Paris Labour Court ultimately ordered PSG to pay €61 million in December 2025.

In December 2025, Me Verheyden was invited onto RMC’s After Foot programme, alongside Me Thomas Clay, to celebrate Mbappé’s legal victory. She reminded that “at the level of a given word, it is not because we are fed a magical thought… that it is true… No testimony, no document, no piece of evidence.” She also clarified that the aim of the proceeding was to obtain the missing wages and bonus, in line with the roadmap set by Kylian.

Mbappé’s lawyers expressed their astonishment at PSG’s behaviour, noting that “people were wondering why the club didn’t want to pay.” The termination with Me Verheyden therefore comes amid ongoing legal tensions between the player and his former club.
