Roma eye €35m record spend to secure Diego Moreira for left side

🇬🇧 By 4AllFootball Editorial ·
Roma are prepared to break the €35 million ceiling to sign Belgian full‑back Diego Moreira from Strasbourg, moving the player to the Giallorossi in Rome. The deal targets the left flank, where Liverpool’s recall of Kostas Tsimikas has left a gap, and Moreira has already given his approval. Given Tsimikas’ return to Liverpool and Angelino’s possible departure, Gasperini has asked the club for a high‑level reinforcement on the left flank. The Giallorossi therefore see the left side as a priority in the upcoming transfer window. According to Fabrizio Romano, Roma have told the French club they are ready to break the €35 million barrier for the player. Strasbourg, however, continues to demand a higher fee before releasing Moreira. Belgian journalist Sascha Tavolieri reports a meeting with Moreira’s agents is scheduled in Rome within the next few hours. The discussion aims to finalise a contract and bring the Belgian to the capital. He is keen to be coached by Gian Piero Gasperini, who has publicly expressed interest in the defender. If the deal closes, Roma will shore up their left flank after the loss of Tsimikas and the likely exit of Angelino. Strasbourg could secure a substantial fee while Moreira gains a chance to develop under Gasperini in Serie A.
