Rodriguez bows out after 311 games for Burnley and Wrexham

Under the floodlights of Turf Moor, former Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez announced his retirement.
The 37-year-old England international began his career with the Clarets before leaving his hometown club to join Southampton in 2012.
He made One England appearance in a 2013 friendly against Chile at Wembley while at Southampton. He later signed for West Bromwich Albion before returning to Turf Moor in 2019.
Rodriguez returned to Turf Moor in 2019, having previously helped Burnley secure promotion to the Premier League on two occasions.
He made more than 300 appearances for Burnley across his two spells, totalling 311 in total. He also played more than 250 Premier League games.
Rodriguez also guided Southampton to the 2016‑17 EFL Cup final, where they were defeated by Manchester United. He then joined Wrexham, making 25 appearances as they earned promotion from League One in 2025.
Since leaving the Welsh side in the summer, he has been without a club.
