PSG face fresh harassment scandal hours before City clash

Paris Saint‑Germain are again at the centre of a judicial matter just hours before their Champions League quarter‑final against Manchester City at 21:00. The club must now manage a harassment‑related case that is far removed from the pitch,

Investigation into alleged workplace bullying

The Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed that several members of PSG staff and the club’s hierarchy were questioned before the summer as part of a preliminary inquiry into moral harassment at work. The probe follows a complaint lodged in May 2025 by former midfielder Kheira Hamraoui.

Hamraoui alleges she was deliberately sidelined after returning from injury in order to force her departure from the club. Her lawyer, Pascal Garbarini, welcomed the progress, saying, “Many hearings within PSG have taken place. The investigation is moving forward.” He added that his client is determined to obtain redress and hopes the case will prompt broader changes in how clubs treat players who no longer fit their sporting plans.

Separate assault case and civil claim

The current harassment inquiry is distinct from the 2021 assault on Hamraoui in Chatou, for which the Paris prosecutor has sought trial of former teammate Aminata Diallo and César Mavacala. Those allegations remain under investigation and have not resulted in convictions.

In parallel, Hamraoui pursued a civil claim for €3.5 million against PSG before the labour courts. She was dismissed in December 2025 but has appealed, meaning the civil component of the dispute remains unresolved.

PSG declined to comment when approached by AFP about the latest judicial development. The club is now balancing the legal saga with its sporting commitments, including the upcoming Champions League encounter with Manchester City.

As the investigations continue, no judicial conclusions have been reached and the outcome of the harassment allegations remains uncertain. The case adds a sensitive layer to PSG’s preparations for the high‑profile match in Paris.
