Paul Pogba seeks a new MLS challenge after Monaco's failure
At thirty‑three years old, Paul Pogba does not consider giving up his boots: since the termination of his contract with AS Monaco last August, the 2018 world champion has been traveling across the United States in search of a new club.
A stint at Monaco that never took off
His arrival on the Rock was supposed to mark the midfielder's big comeback after a doping suspension and his departure from Juventus Turin. In reality, he only played six brief matches in the Monaco shirt, with a single start, which hastened the end of a project originally planned for two years.
Recurring injuries limited his playing time, forcing him to cut short his Monaco adventure prematurely. Despite these difficulties, Pogba has never considered retirement and continues to believe in a second chance at the highest level.
Heading for Major League Soccer
Prioritising a challenge outside Europe and ruling out the Saudi Arabia option, the French international now turns to Major League Soccer, which the Daily Mal names as the most credible destination. Since August, his entourage has been offering his services to several North American franchises.
In the past, informal contacts had taken place with DC United, and rumours regularly link him with New York City FC or Inter Miami, where Lionel Messi and David Beckham play. None of these discussions, however, resulted in a concrete offer.
In the absence of firm negotiations, the future of the tricolour midfielder remains in limbo, awaiting a solid project that can guarantee him playing time and the necessary peace of mind to reinvent himself.
