Parma's 3‑0 win gives Gilardino first triumph as Sarri's Atalanta crumble

Parma's 3‑0 victory at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia secures Alberto Gilardino his first win as manager and leaves Maurizio Sarri's Atalanta still searching for form.
Atalanta's troubled build‑up
Atalanta entered the match in 11th place on 11 points. They had not won at home since beating Venezia on 12 October and had drawn 2‑2 with Fiorentina on Thursday. Maurizio Sarri's side were coping with an injury crisis, with only 19 players available. Injured or sidelined players included Gianluca Gaetano, Thomas Kristensen, Raoul Bellanova, Gianluca Scamacca, Giacomo Raspadori, Sead Kolašinac, Franck Kessié, Isak Hien, Odilon Kossounou and Pompei, while Giorgio Scalvini returned to defence.
Parma's desperate search for first win
Parma were in the bottom three on five points after a 0‑0 draw with Udinese, still awaiting Gilardino's first win. They were without Adrián Bernabé, who suffered a muscle problem in training on Sunday. Giovanni Fabbian started in midfield and Simone Lontani partnered El Bilal Touré up front.
Atalanta dominated the opening half hour with 73 percent possession. Charles De Ketelaere was the main threat, forcing a save from Giovanni Daffara and then firing just past the far post. Ederson's long‑range drive missed inches wide and Nikola Krstović's shot went past the post.
Parma's first chance came from a set piece when Enrico Delprato headed wide from Vincent Sierro's corner. On 41 minutes, Vincent Sierro's corner allowed Giovanni Fabbian to head home from close range. Giovanni Daffara made a sharp save to deny Nicola Zalewski just before half‑time.
Two minutes after the restart, Davide Zappacosta diverted a cross into his own left post for an own goal. Jonathan Rowe missed two good chances for Atalanta. On 58 minutes, Giovanni Fabbian set up Simone Lontani, whose long‑range strike curled into the bottom‑right corner. Maurizio Sarri introduced Eljif Elmas, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Lazar Samardžić and Javison Idele later in the game.
Giovanni Daffara produced another fine save to deny Nikola Krstović's low drive. Mario Pašalić headed against the crossbar from close range. Nikola Krstović had a header saved by Daffara and then shot wide. Parma kept a clean sheet to complete the 3‑0 win.
