Over €70 million price tag fuels winter chase for German international Kevin Schade
Kevin Schade, the 24‑year‑old German international, is at the centre of a winter transfer frenzy as clubs assess whether they can meet Brentford’s asking price of more than €70 million. Sky a move in January would be "pretty costly" for any interested side, and the club has set clear limits on any deal.
Brentford’s valuation and contract situation
Brentford have indicated that Schade would cost over €70 million in a January transfer, a figure that would eclipse the club’s previous record sale of Bryan Mbeumo for €75 million to Manchester United. Schade’s contract runs until 2028, giving Brentford considerable leverage.
The club’s stance is that only a club willing to meet this high fee will secure the player, meaning the transfer hinges on the willingness of suitors to meet Brentford’s “clear guidelines”.
Interest from Premier League heavyweights
Sky lists several Premier League giants as monitoring the German forward. Liverpool were linked with a bid at the end of September, while Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham have also been named as clubs keeping a close eye on Schade.
Schade has made an immediate impact at Brentford since joining from SC Freiburg in 2023, scoring three goals in his first six Premier League appearances. He has featured in 120 matches for the club, netting 25 times, and helped Brentford sit fourth in the table with two wins and four draws in the 2026/27 season.
On the international stage, Schade has earned two caps for the German national team, debuting in March 2023. He started both a 1‑1 draw with the Netherlands and a 0‑1 loss to Greece, playing on the left wing.
If a club can meet Brentford’s demand, Schade could become the most expensive outgoing player in the club’s history, surpassing the €75 million record set by Mbeumo.
