Nottingham Forest eye Tijjani Reijnders' exit as City seeks profit

Nottingham Forest have moved into serious pursuit of Tijjani Reijnders, the 35‑time Oranje‑international, after multiple media from Engeland reported his openness to leave Manchester City. The Dutch midfielder, who joined City a season ago, is now seen as a potential next step within English football.

Reijnders arrived at Manchester City from AC Milan for a reported €55 million. The transfer, completed a season earlier, marked a significant investment by the club in the midfielder.

He began his City tenure strongly, earning a place in the starting lineup. Over time, however, he lost his basisplaats at the Etihad Stadium, seeing reduced minutes.

Manchester City are now prepared to set a price of €65 million for the player. This figure exceeds the amount they originally paid.

Forest, under Enzo Maresca, are close to securing 18‑year‑old Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille for a substantial fee. The club hopes the youngster will add firepower to their attack.

Earlier this summer, City acquired Elliot Anderson for €135 million, a deal originally linked to Forest. The transaction highlighted the financial muscle of the Citizens.

Selling Reijnders could allow the Citizens to record a transfer profit quickly. The potential income would bolster their balance sheet.

In addition to Reijnders, Forest are negotiating for Sporting Portugal defender Ousmane Diomande and Chelsea striker Liam Delap. Both targets are seen as key additions to the squad.

The club also previously expressed interest in Feyenoord right‑back Givairo Read. That scouting effort underscores Forest’s broader recruitment strategy.
