Manchester City outbids Arsenal for 16‑year‑old prodigy Jeremy Monga

🇬🇧

Manchester City have secured the signing of 16‑year‑old left‑winger Jeremy Monga from Leicester City, paying £10 million (about €11.6 million) after outbidding Arsenal, transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reported on Friday afternoon. The deal includes a long‑term plan for the prodigy, whose market value is estimated at €15 million.

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano announced the move on Friday afternoon. Manchester City succeeded in outbidding Arsenal, who had been in prolonged negotiations for the youngster.

Jeremy Monga is presently a Leicester City player, but his contract will be terminated in the short term. Enzo Maresca played a key role in the negotiations that secured the transfer.

Although the teenager is valued at €15 million, Manchester City will pay £10 million for his services. The £10 million fee translates to roughly €11.6 million.

Monga has already made 37 first‑team appearances for Leicester City. In those outings he recorded one goal and two assists.

City have drawn up a clear long‑term development plan for the 16‑year‑old. The youngster expressed confidence in the project presented by the club.
