L'OL prepares a new loan of Endrick before the winter transfer window
As the winter transfer window is set to open on January 1 for a month, Olympique Lyonnais recalls a previous successful deal: the loan of Real Madrid striker Endrick, who shone in the colors of the Gones last year and left a lasting impression.
A market already underway
The winter transfer window will officially open on January 1 and will last a month, according to official information. Lyon's executives say preparations are already underway.
Last season, Olympique Lyonnais took advantage of this window to strengthen its attack by securing a six‑month loan for Endrick, then a young Brazilian international from Real Madrid. In 21 matches, the player scored eight goals and provided eight assists, a record that impressed the club.
Spanish radio station Cadena Ser said on Wednesday that “the Lyon fans would be delighted” to welcome the Auriverde again on loan, suggesting that a bright option could be reconsidered. This prospect is based on the mutual success of the previous collaboration.
Fonseca reshapes Lyon defence after Niakhaté injury for Lens
After Olympique Lyonnais failed to extend Endrick's loan, the club signed Lens player Loïs Openda, loaned from Juventus, without a purchase option and for €3.5 million. This transaction shows the Rhône‑based management's willingness to stay active in the market.
Endrick, 20 years old, is already attracting interest from financially stronger clubs, including Roma and Aston Villa, who are among the suitors. The young striker would benefit from changing teams this winter.
Lyon eye a new big signing as Endrick remains in limbo
Under José Mourinho, Endrick has received only four minutes of game time against Elche since the start of the season, the coach favoring the summer signing Carlos Espi. This situation strengthens the player's desire to find a new club.
