In the Nations League, Klopp's DFB eleven suffered a shocking 0-1 defeat to Greece, while Portugal overcame Norway 2-1 in the top match. Big surprise for Germany

Jürgen Klopp had to wait again for his first win as DFB coach, as the Germans in Augsburg were completely surprised to lose 0-1 to Greece. Substitute Dimitrios Kourbelis delivered the decisive goal in the 74th minute, while Joshua Kimmich mishandled a Greek shot. Despite over 70 percent possession, the team, with five changes compared to the opening match, failed to score.

In the same group match, the Netherlands beat Serbia 2-1. Cody Gakpo, who had previously scored the equaliser in stoppage time against Germany, had to be substituted after 17 minutes due to an ankle injury. Mexx Meerdink scored his first goal for the Oranje and followed it with a second strike in the 69th minute, while Luka Jovic contributed the equaliser for Serbia.

Portugal dominates Norway

Portugal kept the upper hand against Norway in the top match of Group 2 and won 2-1. Joao Felix opened the game in the 17th minute, Norway equalised through Erling Haaland, but a mistake by goalkeeper Örjan Nyland allowed the ball to roll to Gonçalo Ramos, who finished the winning goal with a chip in the 54th minute. Cristiano Ronaldo spent the entire match on the bench.

Nations League miracle postponed – Greece punishes Germany's blunder

In Group 4, Denmark secured the win after an own goal by Ben Davies in the 53rd minute gave the hosts the lead. Just a few minutes later, Gustav Isaksen added the second goal for a 2-0 final score, delivering a confident victory for the Danes.

Austria celebrated a confident 3-0 victory over Kosovo in Vienna. Defender David Affengruber opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, Junior Adamu doubled the lead in stoppage time of the first half, and Carney Chukwuemeka set the final score at 3-0, before former Basel player Edon Zhegrova added the consolation goal from a foul penalty. For Kosovo it was the first meeting since the period when national coach Franco Foda led the team before his FCZ stint from 2017 to 2022.

On neutral ground in Debrecen (HUN) the Irish side won 3-0, with all goals coming in the first half. Before the match the majority of the Irish internationals voted on participation despite the Gaza war; substitute goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu, however, chose not to play.
