Inter and Chivu aim to win in Rotterdam for the Champions League

Inter, under the guidance of Cristian Chivu, heads to Rotterdam for the Champions League clash against Feyenoord, aware that the three points are essential to keep qualification hopes among the top eight alive, after the disastrous derby against Milan on Saturday at the Meazza.

Cristian Chivu's selections for the match were published by Ansa and have reported the probable line‑ups.

The coach, while maintaining optimism despite the defeat, confirmed the absence of captain Lautaro Martinez for the Rotterdam match.

In attack, the Frenchman Thuram will not be able to rest and should partner Esposito, with Bonny in the second line.

In midfield, Barella is doubtful and could be replaced by Mkhitaryan, while Dimarco and Zielinski will return to the field from the first minute.

In defense, Bastoni is suspended and will be replaced by the utility player Carlos Augusto.

Lautaro remains out due to injury along with Stones, Luis Henrique and Jones, while Pavard is back available.

Feyenoord's formation will be 4‑3‑3 with Ernst between the posts, Read, Watanabe, Marmol and Javi Lopez in defense, Zechiel, Vanhoutte and Targhelline in midfield, and Hadj Moussa, Ferri and Valente in attack, coached by Van Bronckhorst.

Inter will take the field with a 3‑5‑2: Martinez, Bisseck, Akanji and Carlos Augusto in defense, Spence, Barella, Calhanoglu, Zielinski and Dimarco in midfield, and Thuram and Esposito in attack, under the direction of Chivu.

A victory in Rotterdam would allow Inter to erase the blow suffered against Milan and to restart the push for European qualification.
