Hoeneß guarantees Eberl's stay as Bayern blocks Olise, Díaz sales

Uli Hoeneß announced a 100 percent chance that Max Eberl’s contract will be extended beyond the 2027 season, marking a decisive move for Bayern Munich as the club prepares for the 2026/27 Bundesliga campaign. The statement came in Hoeneß’s first major interview ahead of the new season, underscoring the club’s commitment to continuity in its sporting leadership.

The apology followed Bayern’s 15‑0 preseason friendly triumph over amateur side FC Rottach‑Egern at the club’s Tegernsee training camp on Thursday evening. Hoeneß said he was “incredibly annoyed with myself for being so naive” and acknowledged that his earlier interview, published before the 2026 DFB‑Pokal final, had unintentionally harmed Eberl’s reputation.

Hoeneß recalled that he had previously assessed Eberl’s contract odds at “60:40” shortly before Bayern completed a domestic double against VfB Stuttgart. After the final, Eberl’s irritated response prompted the current clarification, with Hoeneß now insisting the executive will stay beyond 2027.
