The 31‑year‑old Serge Gnabry used the back‑pass from Nathaniel Brown and elegantly nudged the ball past Freiburg goalkeeper Mio Backhaus, putting Bayern Munich ahead with two goals already in the first half.

“My 100th Bundesliga goal is a nice story”, said Gnabry. “I hadn't expected that, but it's great that it helped the team.”

Gnabry made his Bundesliga debut in 2016/17 with Werder Bremen, where he scored 11 goals in 27 appearances, before moving to Hoffenheim the following season and adding another 10 goals in 22 games, which enabled the Sinsheim club to qualify for the Champions League.

Since his move to Bayern Munich he has scored another 79 Bundesliga goals, reaching the 100‑goal mark in 267 appearances – a tally that makes him one of the league’s best finishers. © DFL

Bayern Munich turn their focus on the derby against Borussia Dortmund, regarded as Der Klassiker, on the next matchday, Matchday 8. The video of the Freiburg victory is available via JWPlayer.
