Frauen-Bundesliga HSV Union Berlin draw after Stoldt hat‑trick

Under the floodlights on Sunday evening, the Hamburg women’s side met Union Berlin in a roller‑coaster Frauen‑Bundesliga encounter that finished level, denying HSV a much‑needed lift out of the relegation zone. The match saw three HSV leads before Union Berlin clawed back a late equaliser.
Stoldt's hat‑trick fuels HSV's hopes
Svea Stoldt produced a spectacular hat‑trick, finding the net in the 10th, 49th and 72nd minutes. His first goal arrived after a deflection, and Camilla Linberg added a fourth HSV goal from a free‑kick in the 15th minute, taken from beyond 30 metres. The goals gave the team a 2‑0, then 3‑1 and finally 4‑3 Führung during the first half.
Union Berlin's late comeback seals draw
Union Berlin responded through Lia Kamber’s 45+2 minute strike, followed by Nele Bauereisen’s header in the 50th minute and Jill Janssens’s finish in the 67th. The decisive blow came in the 85th minute when goalkeeper Kinga Szemik slipped as she rushed out, and Dina Orschmann pounced on the ball to level the score. Earlier, Union’s goalkeeper Nadine Böhi had held firm against a long‑range effort.
Szemik’s mis‑step allowed Orschmann to head the ball into the net, erasing HSV’s advantage. Earlier, Szemik had denied a cross‑shot at the left post in the 27th minute, and also saved a powerful strike from Carla Morich in the 40th. The Berlin side also tested the HSV keeper with a free‑kick from Linberg in the 15th.
HSV coach Rodolfo Esteban Cardoso praised his side’s defensive resilience but lamented the missed opportunity to secure a ‘Befreiungsschlag’ in the Frauen‑Bundesliga table. The team remained dangerous on the break despite conceding several chances, including a close effort from Morich in the 40th minute. He warned that consistency must improve.
The clubs meet again on Saturday at 13:00, with a live audio report on NDR Livecenter, giving HSV a chance to reverse the missed escape. Union Berlin will then return to the DFB‑Pokal round of 16 at the Volksparkstadion, while HSV’s next league outing is on 7 November away to Bayer Leverkusen, also broadcast by NDR.
