Carvajal joins Getafe on 2027 deal after Real Madrid glory
Dani Carvajal, the 34‑year‑old right‑back, completed a move to Getafe CF on Tuesday, 13, signing a contract that runs until 30 June 2027 after leaving Real Madrid as a free agent.
Contract details and salary
The agreement, announced by Getafe, sees Carvajal earn less than €1 million, roughly R$ 5.6 million, after the club’s president Ángel Torres covered the shortfall demanded by LaLiga’s economic control.
Career record and international honours
Carvajal finished his Real Madrid spell with 451 appearances and 27 trophies, including six Champions League titles, and has won the 2023 Nations League and the 2024 European Championship with Spain.

Impact on Getafe’s season
Getafe sit 14th in LaLiga with eight points from eight matches and expect Carvajal to debut against Rayo Vallecano on Monday, 19, at the Coliseum, 16:00 Brasília time, in the ninth round.
Although registered for the domestic league, Carvajal is omitted from Getafe’s list for the Conference League group stage and will only become eligible for the knockout phase if the club qualifies before the UEFA deadline of 4 February 2027.
The club, coached by José Bordalás, also monitors a possible signing of 37‑year‑old midfielder Dani Parejo, whose addition would be assessed against the squad’s cost ceiling.
