Bruno fernandes worse, dalot, Man utd stars rated and slated after Como defeat
Manchester United were thrashed 4-1 by Cesc Fabregas' Como on Wednesday night in the Champions League, the Italian side delivering a historic victory at the San Siro.
Early on the pitch United fell behind
Nico Paz opened the scoring within the first two minutes, curling a left‑footed shot beyond Senne Lammens to give the hosts the lead for a second consecutive week. United pressed but could not find a shot on target before the break.
Half‑time changes failed to spark a revival
Carlo Carrick introduced Baleba and Amad for Cunha and Santos at the interval, yet the alteration produced little impact. Como continued to dominate, with United still registering zero shots on target in the first half.
In the second half, Paz assisted Douvikas three minutes after the restart, doubling Como’s lead. Paz then outran Youri Tielemans to score his second before the hour‑mark, and defender Jacobo Ramon added a fourth with a header from a cross.
Joshua Zirkzee earned a consolation goal in injury time, completing the scoreline.
United’s defensive frailties exposed
Senne Lammens could not prevent any of the goals and received little support from the back line. The Portuguese defender missed an early sitter and offered little defensively, while Harry Maguire appeared out of position for both goals and struggled to track Douvikas.

The Moroccan left‑back, deployed at left‑back in the absence of Shaw, Dorgu and Heaven, was repeatedly out‑muscled by Paz’s movements. Santos received a yellow card and failed to influence the game, being substituted at half‑time.
Midfield and attack underperformed
Mount was handed a surprise deeper role but could not help United control possession or create chances. Tielemans, signed from Aston Villa to dominate midfield, looked out of shape and lacked the athleticism required for transitions.
The captain, nursing an injury, was substituted after 66 minutes after a performance described as one of his worst, with frequent loss of possession and ineffective pressing. The Brazilian forward, introduced from the start, contributed only a wayward shot before being withdrawn at half‑time.
Amad, expected to add pace, beat his opposite full‑back on several occasions and supplied the assist for Zirkzee’s consolation.
