Bosz predicts a fiery Champions League night in Leipzig against PSV

Peter Bosz predicts a hot Champions League‑evening on Tuesday in Leipzig, where PSV will meet at 21.00 under the supervision of the Scottish referee Nick Walsh. The PSV‑coach responded with the words “Fire with fire” to the question of how he will tackle the Argentine coach Martin Demichelis.

Similar playing style and tactical spectacle

Bosz emphasized that the playing styles of both clubs are very similar, with an attacking approach and high pressing. He therefore expects a “spectacle” in the East‑German city and added: “We have a way of playing and we will stick to it.”

Injury situation and new striker

Bosz reported that there are no new injury cases, allowing him to have the same squad at his disposal as for the 2‑0 victory over sc Heerenveen last Friday. UEFA has given PSV permission to add the 17‑year‑old Danish striker Mikkel Bro Hansen to the Champions League list, after Alassane Pléa is sidelined until 2027 due to a knee injury. Pléa has been dealing with knee problems since the beginning of last season, seemed briefly fit, but then suffered a setback. In addition, strikers Ricardo Pepi and Sam Lammers are also short‑term injured, while Bro Hansen was signed last summer from FK Bodø/Glimt.

Leipzig, under the guidance of the Argentine manager Martin Demichelis, finished last season as third in the Bundesliga. The current season has been a rollercoaster, with home matches so far being comfortably won, including a 6‑0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt last Saturday. Bosz did not give that big win much weight and noted that such a result rarely occurs twice in a row. In away matches, the current fifth‑placed side in Germany shows a different picture, with three defeats so far.

Bosz acknowledged the big difference between Leipzig’s home and away performances, but argued that this is less relevant for PSV. “It doesn’t matter much to us, because we always go for the win,” he said, adding that the team will adopt the same mentality in Leipzig.

The kickoff is scheduled for Tuesday at 21.00, under the supervision of the Scottish referee Nick Walsh. With an emphasis on their own style of play and a full squad, Bosz aims for PSV to make the evening in Leipzig a success.
