De Mos believes PSV can beat Leipzig and deflects criticism
In the Allianz Arena, Aad de Mos is waiting for a convincing victory for PSV against RB Leipzig, a Champions League duel in Germany. The former assistant‑coach sees a chance to make the criticism disappear and hopes for a result that revives the memory of the 6‑2 season.
De Mos believes in a repeat
De Mos sees a chance that history repeats itself for Peter Bosz, who led PSV to a 6‑2 victory last season. He said in an interview with the Eindhovens Dagblad: “All the fuss was gone then and it will be like that again now, if against Leipzig or Porto they manage to pick up three points once.”
Last season PSV beat the German side 6‑2, a result that is further sharpened by the current ambition. De Mos sees that memory as proof that a convincing win is achievable.
After the clash with Leipzig, PSV will face FC Porto in the next round. De Mos adds: “Then all criticism will be pushed into the background.”
In Germany PSV need more balance in midfield; therefore Mos expects Mauro in the starting eleven. He warns: “You cannot give Leipzig too much space, because then they will score heavily on it.”
De Mos believes that the Germans will also give space, allowing PSV to create chances. He points to Leipzig’s earlier four goals against a tightly organised Como and concludes that it is not impossible to hurt the opponent.
