Besiktas eye Antony as Turkish club rebounds from Salah miss
Besiktas are poised to make a summer signing of Brazilian winger Antony, whose market value is estimated at around 40 million euros, according to recent reports. The Turkish side sees the former Ajax star as a prime target after missing out on Mohamed Salah earlier this summer.
Record Ajax exit and market value
Antony made history at Ajax in 2022 when his transfer to Manchester United for a minimum of 95 million euros became the club’s most expensive outgoing deal ever. The Brazilian forward never settled in Manchester and left after a loan spell, moving permanently to Real Betis.
Real Betis performance and willingness to sell
Real Betis paid 22 million euros for Antony last year. In the most recent season he recorded fourteen goals and ten assists for the Spanish side, yet the club is not opposed to a sale.
Besiktas' motivation after missing Salah
According to Turkish outlet Fanatik, Besiktas missed the chance to sign Mohamed Salah, who departed for Trabzonspor, and now aim to add Antony to their roster. The club already has fellow ex‑Ajax player Václav Cerný occupying the right‑wing spot in the Turkish capital.
Spanish media indicate that clubs from five different top‑level leagues are also monitoring the Brazilian, underscoring his continued demand across Europe.
Antony remains under contract with Sevilla until mid‑2030, but Besiktas are prepared to invest heavily to secure his services before any other suitor finalises a deal.
For Besiktas, acquiring Antony would reinforce their attacking options and compensate for the earlier loss of Salah. For the 24‑year‑old, a move to Istanbul offers a fresh challenge after a mixed spell in England and Spain.
