Two-year contract ends after three weeks: Adel Bettaieb leaves Espérance

Adel Bettaieb's two‑year contract with Espérance Sportive de Tunis was terminated just three weeks after he arrived, meaning the Tunisian striker will not feature for the club's Sang et Or side this season. The abrupt exit follows an amicable separation with the Beb Souika club, which cited financial disagreements as the cause.

Financial disagreement triggers exit

Beb Souika officially confirmed the mutual termination, explaining that unresolved financial issues between the player and the club led to the decision. Both parties agreed to part ways without further compensation, underscoring the short‑lived nature of the agreement.

The departure came as a surprise, given Bettaieb had been presented as one of Espérance's key offensive signings of the summer transfer window. His exit occurs before the new season even begins, leaving a gap in the forward line.

Bettaieb was trained at Angers and has accumulated experience across Belgium, Luxembourg, Turkey and Romania. His versatility to operate as a centre‑forward or left winger was expected to broaden Espérance's attacking options.

Espérance will now rely on its other recent offensive acquisitions to prepare for a campaign aimed at recapturing the titles it missed last season. The club remains ambitious despite the setback.
