Ballon‑d’Or‑Kane Bayern travels to London, but Eberl is missing

FC Bayern is eagerly awaiting the Ballon d’Or evening in London, which starts today at 9 pm. According to Maja, Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal are among the absolute top favorites. The Munich side travel to England with a large delegation to follow the event.

Large Bayern Delegation

The Bayern delegation is flown to London in a private jet. On board are players, coaches and officials of both genders, all representing the club's nominations. Both the men's and the women's team are in the running for the Team‑of‑the‑Year award. The group looks forward to experiencing the atmosphere of the English capital event up close.

The club has received numerous nominations in total. Among them are Michael Olise, Luis Diaz, Dayot Upamecano and Lennart Karl in the U21 category. Also Pernille Hader, Klara Bühl, Momoko Tanikawa and coach Vincent Kompany were named. This broad selection underscores Bayern's international presence across various competitions.

However, two well‑known faces are missing from the trip. Vincent Kompany remains under medical care after a collapse on Friday and cannot fly. Max Eberl must stay at home in Munich due to a cold, so he will miss the ceremony. Both absences are regretted by the club's officials.

Award ceremony and outlook

The ceremonial award begins at 9 pm in London's O2 Arena. After last year's winner Ousmane Dembélé, it will now be decided who follows in his footsteps. Many speculate whether Harry Kane will win the Ballon d’Or, as he, together with Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal, is among the absolute favorites. The broadcast is being followed worldwide, with the English public especially eager.

If Kane receives the award, it would be a strong signal for the English national team ahead of the upcoming tournament. For FC Bayern, a victory also brings additional international recognition. The club therefore remains a central player in the global football scene.
