Arteta warns about Saka's injury, situation not good

Mikel Arteta could not hide his concern when Bukayo Saka, 25, left the pitch against Bayern. The English winger suffered an injury that forced the player to leave the match, and Arsenal's manager confirmed that he will undergo further tests to determine its severity.

Upcoming medical tests

The coach confirmed that Saka will be examined with an additional MRI this afternoon, as the initial scans showed a considerable fluid buildup in the injured area. Arteta explained that, due to the difficulty in assessing the extent, the club needs several more scans and specialist opinions before issuing a definitive diagnosis.

Load management and background

Arteta also emphasized the need to properly manage the winger's workload when he returns, stating that Arsenal must create the right environment for Saka to display all his qualities. He added that it is essential to understand how much the player can handle and the impact it will have on the team.

Saka's injuries have become recurrent in recent seasons. Last season he played 31 Premier League matches, the previous one 25, and in the three seasons before that he logged 38, 38 and 35 appearances, numbers higher than the current ones.

According to the BBC, the club fears the minimum absence will be between six and eight weeks. That period could affect Arsenal's planning ahead of upcoming commitments.

Saka had recently celebrated his goal against Lille, information provided by EFE. After the injury, Arteta said: “It doesn’t look good. Bukayo has another MRI this afternoon because there was a lot of fluid in the area, making it difficult to gauge the extent of the injury, but we’ll probably know more tomorrow.”

Journalists Morgan Harlow and Fernando Gabarró were the first to report the player's absence. With the information available, Arsenal will continue the examinations and hopes to have a clearer picture tomorrow.
