Arteta says Saka's injury could linger before Everton clash
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta gave a detailed update on Bukayo Saka after the England winger limped off in less than ten minutes at the Allianz Arena against Bayern Munich, confirming further scans and an MRI will be carried out before the Gunners host Everton tomorrow.
The injury appeared to be a quad problem when Saka tried to pass the ball, and he missed the remainder of Arsenal's 2-2 draw with the Bundesliga champions. It was the first half of a midweek clash at the Allianz Arena.
“He's got another MRI this afternoon because he had quite a lot of fluid in the area so it was difficult to understand the extent of the injury,” Arteta told reporters via HandOfArsenal. He added, “We will know more, probably tomorrow, we need a few more scans and opinions from the specialists.”
Arteta stressed he was not worried about the load the 25‑year‑old has taken on this season. He said the best response would be for Saka to arrive at training with the same mentality he has always shown.

Squad reshuffle after Saka's exit
With Saka limping off against Bayern on Wednesday, Eberechi Eze seized the chance and scored the opening goal. Arteta hinted that the No.10 could start again in the Premier League this weekend, while Noni Madueke is expected to return to his favoured right wing after featuring on the left against Bayern and covering for Eze at Nottingham Forest.
Injury list and options
Summer signing Christos Tzolis, who began the season on the left flank, has also been sidelined by an injury sustained during the international break. Defensive duo Piero Hincapie and William Saliba are both nearing returns, and both right‑backs Jurrien Timber and Ben White remain available for selection this weekend.
Transfermarkt values Saka at €110 million, underscoring the significance of his absence for the Gunners as they prepare for the Everton encounter.
