Albert Grønbæk must sit out after muscle tear in Nations League break

Albert Grønbæk, 25, has left HSV for the foreseeable future after a muscle tear in his right thigh. The player, who has already scored two goals and provided two assists in five appearances for the Hamburg club this season, came on for Denmark in the 82nd minute of Thursday's UEFA Nations League match against Norway.

Shortly after his debut, Grønbæk had to leave the pitch because his leg was heavily bandaged. Denmark's head coach Brian Riemer confirmed after the match that the player had to leave the training camp.

A subsequent MRI in Hamburg confirmed the muscle tear. HSV have announced that Grønbæk will not be available for Denmark for the remainder of the international break and is expected to miss the start of the Bundesliga return.
