LFP launches Ligue 1+ platform for 2025/26 season

🇫🇷 17 May 2026

The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) has announced the launch of a new digital platform called Ligue 1+. The service will broadcast Ligue 1 matches from the start of the 2025/26 season.

The decision follows a series of setbacks for the French league’s television arrangements. Recent rights deals have collapsed, described as melting like snow in the sun.

The failed contracts left the LFP without a stable broadcast partner. The loss of revenue prompted the federation to seek an alternative solution.

In response, the LFP created Ligue 1+ as its own broadcasting outlet. The platform is intended to secure direct control over the league’s media distribution.

Ligue 1+ will carry all Ligue 1 fixtures once the new season begins. The service aims to provide consistent coverage for clubs and supporters.

The rollout is scheduled for the opening weeks of the 2025/26 campaign. Fans can expect the platform to be operational as the first matches are played.

Looking ahead, the LFP hopes Ligue 1+ will stabilize the league’s television revenue and improve viewer access. The federation will monitor the platform’s performance throughout the season.
