Jetten’s choice: Summerville or Malen for Oranje’s next move

Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten has revealed his preference between Crysencio Summerville and Donyell Malen for the Netherlands’ next World Cup match. Jetten, who closely monitors the Oranje during the tournament, admitted to falling asleep during the 1-3 win over Tunisia in the early hours of Tuesday. Speaking at the weekly press briefing, Jetten described his devotion to watching Oranje’s matches, even setting alarms to catch games. “I came home from work at 01:00 and turned on the Netherlands team. I fell asleep somewhere in the second half,” he said. “It was time to go to sleep.” The Dutch ultimately beat Tunisia 1-3. Jetten’s comments come as Oranje prepare to face Morocco at 03:00 in the early hours of Tuesday. “I’ll be on the couch, or maybe in a pub. I hope fans of Oranje and Morocco make a party of it,” he added. The Dutch government leader’s interest in the team’s performances has become a talking point during the tournament. The selection dilemma between Summerville and Malen has already played out in the group stage. Against Japan (2-2), Summerville started on the right while Malen began as the striker. In the matches against Sweden and Tunisia, Malen began on the right flank with Summerville coming off the bench. Jetten now weighs in on the debate. “I find Summerville impressive in the first matches,” he said.
