Celtic’s £3.5m chase for Horkas amid a busy transfer market

🇬🇧

Celtic have emerged as favourites to sign Las Palmas goalkeeper Dinko Horkas, having tabled an offer close to £3.5 million for the 27‑year‑old, a detail first reported by George Tsarouchas on X. The move would bolster Celtic's goalkeeping options as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Midfielder Reo Hatate has confirmed his desire to leave Celtic this summer in search of a move to one of Europe’s top leagues. The 30‑year‑old missed out on selection for Japan’s World Cup squad, prompting his decision.

Swedish midfielder Benjamin Nygren has also signalled uncertainty about his future at Celtic. After Sweden’s World Cup exit, the 24‑year‑old replied “we’ll see” when asked where he will be playing next season.

Torino value Gvidas Gineitis highly but would consider allowing the 22‑year‑old to depart if a bid exceeds £8.6 million. The Italian club’s stance keeps the Celtic‑linked midfielder on the transfer market.

Saint‑Étienne have reached an agreement with Go Ahead Eagles for the transfer of 22‑year‑old Jakob Breum. The midfielder, also linked with Celtic, has agreed a four‑year contract pending a medical, and will work under head coach Ian Cathro.

Feyenoord may outbid Celtic for goalkeeper Tjark Ernst after meeting his £4 million release clause with Hertha Berlin. The 23‑year‑old’s potential move illustrates competition for Celtic’s target positions.

Securing Dinko Horkas would give Celtic a new option between the posts as they reshape their squad. Meanwhile, the club faces multiple transfer challenges, with several players linked to moves away and rivals poised to intercept its targets.
