Anderlecht eyes MLS winger Langoni as they chase title
RSC Anderlecht are set to overhaul their squad for the 2025‑26 season and have turned their attention to Argentine right‑winger Luca Langoni, who currently plies his trade at New England Revolution in Major League Soccer. The 24‑year‑old has already featured in 52 MLS matches, netting eight goals and providing eleven assists.
Transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri Langoni has been placed on Anderlecht’s shortlist as the club evaluates potential signings. Anderlecht intend to arrange a meeting soon to discuss the feasibility of a move and to engage with the player’s representatives.
No formal agreement has been reached yet, with the Belgian side still in an exploratory stage. Nevertheless, the club appears to be treating the MLS option seriously as it seeks to define its core squad before pre‑season training begins.
After a campaign that saw Anderlecht close the gap to the league leaders, the club aims to take the next step by contesting the championship and making a strong impact in cup competitions. Adding quality to the attacking line‑up is a key priority for the management.
Langoni, a natural right winger, joined New England Revolution in the summer of 2024 after the American club paid roughly €6.2 million to secure his transfer from Boca Juniors. Since joining, he has become a regular starter for the Revolution, featuring in 52 league games.
Transfermarkt currently values the 24‑year‑old at €5 million, while his contract with New England runs until December 2027, reducing the urgency for the MLS side to sell. Anderlecht will therefore need to gauge the required fee and confirm whether Langoni is willing to return to Europe.
The upcoming discussions will determine if the Belgian giants can convert the shortlist name into a concrete signing before the new campaign kicks off.
